Since 1998, the city’s Most Notable Property (MNP) Program provides a way to recognize and celebrate the historical significance of properties in Columbia, Missouri. The Program is managed by the City of Columbia’s Historic Preservation Commission.
When a property receives the Most Notable Property designation, there is no protection against demolition. However, recognition could be a step toward preserving the property and its neighborhood. Note, a MNP designation includes no restrictions on the use or alterations of the building.
